Hating God?
By funnyvideovlogger | April 25, 2010
I don’t hate the Christian god, my atheism is unrelated to my sexual orientation, and my focus on Christianity in videos emerges from the facts that a) I was a Christian and b) Christianity is the predominant religious tradition in the United States in particular and the West in general. A response to a recent video by ChristoferL and some comments that appeared under the video. Link to the video: www.youtube.com NB: In his response to this video, ChristoferL claimed that his “ProfMTH: Champion God Hater” video was intended to be a funny video in response to my invitation to him to participate in a collaborative video about my channel reaching 10000 subscribers, even though in the description for the video he makes it clear that he just couldn’t bring himself to make the sort of video I had invited him to submit. I hate YouTube drama, but I also hate someone pissing on my leg and then telling me that it’s merely raining. I suggested to ChristoferL that he could demonstrate that he had made a mistake by taking down his “ProfMTH: Champion God Hater.” He said the suggestion was “reasonable,” but rejected it because he said he believes what he said in the “Champion God Hater” video and that taking it down would make him seem “fearful of standing up to” me. So case closed: he meant the original video all along, subsequent protestations to the contrary notwithstanding..

I love how Christians will get mad if you “label” them. They will be like I’m not one of those crazy fundamentalist. To me if you don’t want to be labeled, then change your label. Don’t call yourself a christian.

@ProfMTH ah congrats, lucky git.

@loserella55 Thanks! I think I *should* get a trophy.

I laughed way too hard at the “champion god hater” part. What, do you get a trophy for being a champion hater instead of just a mere hater? Lulz. Good vid, as always. I greatly enjoy them.

When ever I seapk of god(s), I mean generally any deities unless otherwise specified so it’s not like xtianity gets the most bashing as many arguments are valid with more than one deity.
Not to mention to many of us judeo-xtian and islam variety is the most relevant and familiar.
Maybe I should start making videos about Hinduism… would that shut them up ? lol.

@ProfMTH , Thank you. I stole that line from Mr Burns on “The Simpsons”

“What ProfMTH is gay? I’ve been watching gay videos?”
He is and, well, yes, you have.

LOL!!

I watched the parent vid that you were responding to. I did not realize the severity of the accuassations. He’s laying the souls of your 10,000 subscribers on your. Well, ProfMTH, I am officially absolving you of responsibility for my soul (if I had one). You needn’t burn in hell longer or hotter, because of me. You did not lead me astray from any religion that I had not previously left. I think for myself, and simply watch your vids for enjoyment. If you need this in writing let me know.

What ProfMTH is gay? I’ve been watching gay videos? OMG. His hatred and anger are so ever present in his tone. I’ve never seen such raving lunacy as a ProfMTH vid. Now I know why. A gay christian hater it should have been obvious from the 1st 30 vids of his I watched. I’m devastated.
Oh, and in case I wasn’t over the top enough for some. I’m joking.

I love the way these “christians” feel like they need to protect “God.” He’s infinite, allmighty, the creator of the universe,….yet at the same time he’s as impotent as a nevada boxing commissioner?

It’s pretty sad that you actually have to explain this to people. You pretty much have to hold their hands like idiot toddlers and guide them through this.
The money hucksters who run the church and put out so many of these dumb books are so desperate they will throw everything including the kitchen sink at non-believers. “The reason you’re responding to our massive movement is because… we’re right!” What the fuck? Really? Okay. How do these people know how to even put pants on?

@Belloran24
Many of them have made it an art form, and have done so since the earliest days of the Jesus movement.
April 25th, 2010 at 2:20 pm
LOL no one slanders like the “godly” Christians. Atheists could never live up.
April 25th, 2010 at 2:51 pm
Oh snap, it was one of your really early vids. I forget the precise way you phrased it. Im just going to go sit over here now…

It’s become typical of a good part of far rightists, not just the Christian ones, to automatically label a “hater” anyone who begs to propose a criticism of their tenets. If generalized, this stance would lead to the paradoxical conclusion that I’m the hater of practically anybody I know, loved ones notwithstanding.

@baltimark
“I of course don’t argue in any way that pleases atheists.”
Indeed, you have yet to use any form of reason, consistency or proper argumentation. If you think Zen is about spouting nebulous concepts on Internet forums, then you haven’t understood much of it at all.

What finds ye’ sad?

“Approaching reality through your own personal perception of it is a good way to experience self-implosion.”
What evidence do you have to substantiate that claim?
April 25th, 2010 at 5:30 pm
What an interesting way of writing off completely valid acknowledgments of the logic fallacies that are found within your messages. Ad-Hominem, you know, name calling, if you honestly think you can say name calling is a reasonable argument I don’t understand how you can even function. In addition, what alternative means is there to approach reality then through one’s own perspective? The only means of escaping that I have seen is Critical Thinking.(continues)

Indeed, ThorGoLucky. It’s a very curious thing since American Christians constitute the most powerful and well off religious majority in the history of our species.
