I have to say, the first time I ever saw this film and saw this scene, and also the scene where Gene Wilder and and the monster are singing “putting on the Ritz” I laughed so much I had to lie down on the floor because I couldn’t breathe properly. Just superb!

Man, this movie is a jewel. Not only funny, great movie in many aspects. Great work by Hackman here.

blazing saddles was funnier. best comedy ever (although i’ve never seen “some like it hot” or “duck soup”)
